SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton (3-4) could not get any offense going as No. 25/25 Kentucky (5-2) shut them out 11-0 on Saturday night.

The Wildcats got their offense going early putting up two runs in the bottom of the first inning and they never looked back. With three more runs in the second, they were out in front with a comfortable 5-0 lead. All five runs were of the unearned variety as in unusual fashion, a pair of errors in the first two innings haunted the Titans.

For Fullerton, they only mustered up two baserunners for the game, both of which came in the first two innings. Brooke Clemetson led the game off with a walk, but never got further than second and Zoe Richard singled up the middle in the top of the second for the Titans' lone hit of the evening.

A shutout third inning thanks to a Sophie Frost strikeout and two runners gunned down by Julia Valenzuela looked to give the Titans a little bit of momentum, but Kentucky quickly ended that only needing six pitches to end the Fullerton half of the fourth.

A pair of long balls for the Wildcats highlighted a six-run fourth inning and the run-rule came into play. Needing at least four runs to keep the game going, Fullerton came up empty going down 1-2-3 in the top of the fifth resulting in the Titans' fourth loss of the season.

Fullerton looks to bounce back with an early morning double-header to close out the Campbell/Cartier Tournament. They'll have a rematch against North Dakota State at 9:00 a.m. and face the host San Diego State squad at 11:30 a.m.
