Cal State Fullerton senior forward Toni Thomas was named to the All-Big West Conference Second Team while rookie Megan Richardson was named to the league's All-Freshman Team as Big West honors were announced on Monday morning.

Thomas became the first-ever player in the history of the program to earn All-Big West honors all four years of her collegiate career with her second team nod after averaging 13.3 points and 7.3 rebounds this season. Eugenia Miller-Rycraw was a three-time first-team selection while Shayla Bradshaw earned a pair of second-team honors and was selected an all-conference honorable mention once.

Fullerton's second all-time leading scorer and rebounder, Thomas enters this week's Big West Conference Tournament ranked among the league's top 10 in scoring (5th), rebounding (4th), field goal percentage (.396 - 10th), free throw percentage (.858 -2nd), offensive rebounds (2.96 pg - 2nd), and defensive rebounds (4.33 pg - 8th).

She has led the team in scoring nine times and has been the team's top rebounder 16 times this season.

Richardson became the 14th Titan to earn All-Freshman Team honors and the fourth player in the last four years to be so honored, joining Thomas (2005-06), Lauren Chow (2007-08), and Ashley Richie (2007-08).

Richardson is the only freshman to be ranked among the league's top 15 in scoring entering the tournament, ranking No. 13 at 10.7 ppg, and one of only three underclassmen. She also ranks second in the league in three-point percentage (.400) entering this week's play.

Cal State Fullerton (8-19 overall, 5-11 in the Big West) opens the 2009 Big West Tournament on Wednesday afternoon (March 11) at 2:30 p.m. as the sixth-seeded Titans take on No. 7-seeded UC Irvine in the first round.
