FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer kicks-off Big West Conference play this week as they hit the road to take on CSUN, Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. PT.
The Titans head into conference play with conference-best 8-2-1 record and had the best start to a season in program history as they went nine games without a loss with a record of 8-0-1 while knocking off three top-25 teams.
Christian Pinzon leads the team with 17 points this season on five goals and seven assists. Pinzon's seven assists ranks tied for third in the country and second in the Big West. His 17 points ranks third in the conference.
Fullerton is 17-21-7 all-time against CSUN and 9-12-2 on the road. The Titans and Matadors played to a 1-1 draw last year at Titan Stadium while in 2017 Fullerton went on the road and earned a 1-0 victory. CSUN is 5-4-1 the season and are coming off of a loss to Santa Clara.
The Titans backline that has given up a conference-low nine goals in 11 games this season will look to shutdown Daniel Trejo and Johnny Rodriguez who rank first and second in points in the Big West.
Paul-Andre Guerin has had an outstanding senior season in goal for the Titans thus far, allowing just nine goals with a Big West leading .833 save percentage on 45 saves along with four shutouts.
