FULLERTON, Calif. – For the third time in four games, Fullerton came back with a late goal in the second half to tie the game and send it to overtime before eventually earning a 1-1 draw on the road against Cal Baptist Friday night.
The Titans tied the game in the 74th minute on a beautiful pass from Samuel Goni to Christian Pinzon who buried the shot far post for his first goal of the season. Goni made the play on a counter attack after a CBU corner kick.
Goni was able to get past two defenders before finding the wide open Pinzon on the other side of the 18-yard box. The senior attacker had three shots on the night, two of which were great chances late in the second half to put the Titans ahead but missed just a little wide.
Fullerton and Cal Baptist tied each other in shots on goal with 10 each, while the Lancers out-earned the Titans in corner kicks six to three.
The Lancers took the lead just before halftime in the 44th minute on a goal by Niklas Haakenstad on a cross from George Ionascu.
Paul-Andre Guerin had another strong match in net for the Titans, finishing the game off with seven saves while making a few highlight saves as he is know to do.
The Titans have a quick turn around as they look to get in the win column Sunday night in Las Vegas against UNLV.
