EL MACERO, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's golf finished in third place in the El Macero Classic Sunday afternoon at the El Macero Country Club.
The Titans shot 8-over par 296 on the final day of the tournament, finishing with a final score of 7-over par 871. Fullerton has finished in the top five in six out of the 10 tournaments this season.
The Titans were defeated by Texas Tech (even par 864) and Oregon State (6-over par 870). The Titans began the third and final round in second place, but moved back on the leaderboard.
The Titans had two players finish inside the top 20. Matt Wilson finished tied for 2nd place individually with scores of 75, 69, and 70. Wilson finished the tournament with an overall score of 2-under par 214.
Dalton Daniel finished the tournament tied for 6th place. Daniel finished with a score of even par 216, shooting a 72 in round three.
Michael Sharkey shot a 77 on Sunday, finishing in a tie for 47th place with a score of 12-over par 228.
Texas Tech's Sandy Scott finished in first place individually with a score of 3 under-par 213.
Fullerton is back in action April 28 through 30 at the Big West Championships in Lihue, Hawai'i.
