FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball moved to 2-0 at home on the year with a 99-60 victory against Cal Lutheran on Saturday night to complete the Homecoming doubleheader sweep after the women's basketball team defeated CSU Bakersfield. Senior guard Khalil Ahmad led the team in scoring with 29 points on 12-13 shooting in 19 minutes.
The Titans never trailed in game and started the game off on a 21-0 run. For the game, Fullerton shot 61.5% (40-65) from the field, 50% (7-14) from distance and 70.6% (12-17) from the charity stripe. Sixty of the team's 99 points came in the paint and 28 points were on the fast break.
Ahmad's game-high 29 points marked his fourth time this year scoring 20+ points. He now leads the team in scoring at 21.1 points per game. Senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. scored 18 points (7-12 FGA, 4-6 FTA) to go along with four rebounds. Junior guard Austen Awosika tallied 11 points (4-6 FGA, 2-2 FTA), five rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals. Junior forward Jackson Rowe was in range of a triple-double with seven points, six rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals in 23 minutes of action. All but one of the 13 Titans that saw the court scored.
The squad returns to action at Titan Gym on Wednesday at 7 p.m. PT against undefeated Loyola Marymount.
