FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball earned a 93-59 on Saturday afternoon against San Diego Christian in the team's lone exhibition match of the 18-19 season. Five student-athletes were in double-figures, led by senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. who tallied 19 points on the night.
The Titans led throughout the game as there were zero ties or lead changes. Fullerton had 50 points in the paint, 24 points off turnovers and 20 fast-break points.
Allman had 19 points on 7-15 shooting from the floor and 5-5 from the stripe. Junior forward Davon Clare had a strong performance with 14 points (6-6 FGA), seven rebounds, one assist and one block. Junior guard Austen Awosika stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points (3-5 FGA, 4-4 FTA), six rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks. Junior guard Jamal Smith did a bit of everything as well with six points, eight rebounds and five assists. The point guard duo of Awosika and Smith recorded just one turnover between the two of them. Senior guard Khalil Ahmad pitched in 16 points and four rebounds while freshman Wayne Arnold had 11 points as well including three three-point buckets.
The squad opens the season officially at Arizona State on Tuesday at 5 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network.
