Turner and Dodgers Advance to NLCS Despite Clutch Hit From Suzuki

Box Score

ATLANTA – Kurt Suzuki came up with the big pinch hit two-RBI single, but it was Justin Turner, Dylan Floro and the Los Angeles Dodgers that earned the 6-2 win over the Atlanta Braves in game four of the National League Division Series on Monday at SunTrust Field. The Dodgers clinched the series 3-1, advancing to the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Suzuki came up with his biggest moment of the 2018 postseason, stepping into the box with runners at second and third and two outs in the bottom of the fourth. The former Titan hero, turned into an instant legend in Atlanta, as he ripped a 1-1 single to left field to score Johnan Camargo and Tyler Flowers to give the Braves a 2-1 advantage in a win-or-go home game four.

Turner did his thing for LA, as he earned a full count walk in the fifth, but was the only Dodger to reach in the frame. He collected his lone knock of the contest in a pivotal three-run seventh frame for the Dodgers, as he singled on a 1-0 count to right field to lead off the inning. Two batters later, Turner turned into a run scored, as Manny Machado launched a three-run homer to right field to blow the game open at 6-2.

Game one of the NLCS between the Dodgers and Brewers will be Friday at 5:09 pm PT  at Miller Field. It will be televised on FOX of FS1.
