Boardingham Sets New Long Jump Record

FULLERTON, Calif. --- Freshman Naiah Boardingham broke her own Cal State Fullerton program record in the long jump on Saturday at the Fresno State Invitational to lead a contingent of Titans.


Boardingham's mark of 6.10 meters in the long jump was not only good for first place, but is a new program record at Fullerton, besting her previous mark of 5.94 meters set earlier in the spring. In addition, Boardingham placed sixth in the 200 meters with a new personal best time of 24.61.

In the 400 meters, Zuri Henderson (54.63) and Kiana Clay (54.91) each set PRs, placing third and fourth respectively.


Senior Ty'Jalayah Robertson placed first in the high jump with a mark of 1.66 meters, while Laura Hamann set a new PR and placed first in the triple jump with a mark of 12.04 meters.


Mason Rollins placed second in the 100 meter dash with a PR of 10.54, while he also set a new PR in the 200 meters clocking a time of 21.40 to finish second. Luis Matos closely followed in third in a time 21.54.


In the 400 meters, five of the top six finishers were from Cal State Fullerton led by Darion Zimmerman (1st, 47.52), Thaddeus Smith (3rd, 48.36), Thomas Media (4th, 48.75), Marcel Espinoza (5th, 48.78) and Conner Edwards (6th, 48.91).


Isaiah Marshall clocked a new PR of 1:51.92 in the 800 meters to place second, while Diego Courbis set a new PR and placed first in the 400 hurdles in a time of 51.92.


Several Titans also competed on the final day of competition at the Steve Scott Invitational at Anteater Stadium in Irvine.


The Titans return to action next weekend at the OXY Invite in Eagle Rock, Calif., while also hosting the Big West Conference Combined Events Championships on Friday and Saturday at Titan Track Complex.
