Position: Associate Head Coach - Sprinters/Hurdlers/Relays (6th Season)

Marques Barosso begins his sixth season (2019-20) with the Titans and his first as the associate head of the track and field program. He spent the previous five as an assistant coach. Barosso oversees the Titan sprinters, hurdlers and relays, and over the last four years under his guidance, the Titans have captured 14 Big West Outdoor Track and Field Individual titles.

In addition, on the men's side during the last five seasons, new Cal State Fullerton records have been set in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 110-meter hurdles, 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay.

For the women's outdoor track and field team, a new record was set in the 400-meter hurdles in 2016. In women's indoor track and field action, new records have been set in the 200 meters, 800 meters and 4x100-meter relay.

A total of 105 student-athletes from the women's indoor track and field and men's and women's outdoor track and field programs were named to their respective conference all-academic teams over the last five years. Furthermore, Joshua Gordon, Aneesh Joshi, Nick Reynolds and Samantha Huerta were named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team. 

Gordon went on to be named the Big West Scholar Athlete of the Year (2014-15), marking just the fourth time a student-athlete from men's outdoor track and field has earned the award.

Prior to joining the Titans, Barosso was a speed development and strength and conditioning coach with the Baltimore Orioles, while also taking on the responsibilities as a sprints and relay coach with UC Irvine from 2013-14.

Barosso graduated with a master's in kinesiology with an emphasis on physical education at Fresno Pacific University in 2012. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis on human movement and sports performance in 2008 from Cal State Fullerton.  

On the track as a Titan, Barosso was the 2006 Big West Champion in the 200 meters (20.97). He was also a participant at the Paris, France Indoor Track and Field event and currently holds personal bests in the 100 meters (10.39), 200 meters (20.97), 400 meters (48.09) and 40-yard dash (4.27).
