SEATTLE – Senior Laura Hamann set a school record in the triple and had a personal-best mark in the long jump to highlight day two of the Husky Classic for Cal State Fullerton women's indoor track and field.
Hamann broke a 16-year old school record in the triple with a personal-best mark of 40-0.75 (12.21m) to take fourth place in the event. The previous record was set by Anna Doty in 2002 at 39-7.75 (12.08m). Hamann also eclipsed the 18-feet mark for the first time in her career, going 18-1 (5.51m) on Saturday to earn a ninth-place finish overall.
Zuri Henderson clocked a time of 57.45 in the 400 meters for the Titans and Kiana Clay posted a time of 58.08. That duo partnered with Tyler Hardge and Fanny Giron to run the 4x400-meter relay and clocked a time of 3:50.30 to finish in eighth place.
In the pole vault, Shelby Noble, Arielle Williams (Bray) and Alysse McMillen each cleared 11-7.25 (3.54m) to tie for eighth place.
Iesha Hamm tied for ninth place in the high jump with a clearance of 5-4.5 (1.64m).
Onyx Gaston clocked a 60-meter time of 8.04, long jumped 16-5 (5.00m) and triple jumped 36-10.5 (11.24m). Mia Franco ran the 400 meters in 59.38 and Hardge clocked a time of 60.31. Giron ran the 800-meter race in 2:18.75.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Tammy Vien posted a time of 9.19.
Freshman Trinity Ruelas posted a time of 5:01.07 in her first time competing in the mile as a Titan. Pamela Pelayo clocked a time of 10:24.66 in the 3K.
The Titans return to Seattle for the MPSF Championships on Feb. 23-24, the final meet of the indoor season.
