Greg Paules

Greg Paules serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief Operating Officer for Titan Athletics. Elevated to the position in December 2020, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Division I Athletics Department and provides leadership for marketing, ticketing, development, scheduling, game contracts, sports information, broadcasting, corporate sponsorships, facility rentals, graphic design, brand management, athletic training, sports performance, and leadership initiatives. He also administers and supervises baseball, men’s basketball, men’s soccer, and women’s tennis. Paules is a member of both the Vice President for Student Affairs Executive Team and the Senior Administrative Team.

Paules joined Cal State Fullerton Athletics in 2013 as Associate Athletics Director for Development and spent more than seven years setting new standards for philanthropic achievement. He secured over 100 major gifts and raised more than $20 million for the university’s first comprehensive fundraising effort—the $250 million It Takes A Titan campaign. Under his leadership, the department generated more philanthropic support in five and a half years than in the previous 55 years of the institution’s history. While serving as the sport supervisor for men’s and women’s golf, he collaborated with a volunteer committee to build a seven-figure endowment and launched a planned-giving program that has since produced more than $10 million in estate commitments.

Before arriving at Fullerton, Paules spent eight years at UC Irvine Athletics, beginning as a marketing intern in 2005 and rising to serve as Special Assistant to the Athletic Director with an emphasis on External Relations. In that role, he advised the AD and senior staff, strengthened the department’s external presence, managed the UC Irvine Athletics brand, led a full website redesign, and developed new corporate marketing initiatives, including a Corporate Holiday Program. From 2011–2013, he oversaw the Anteater Athletic Fund, guiding all aspects of annual giving, achieving record membership, and driving year-over-year six-figure increases in fundraising.

Paules remains active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton and volunteering as a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County. He was selected for the Athletic Director Mentorship Program in 2015 and has been involved with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). From 2015–17, he represented the Big West Conference within the National Association of Athletic Directors of Development (NAADD).

A Pasadena, Calif. native, Paules earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in education from UC Irvine and completed his MBA at the Paul Merage School of Business in 2009, where he served as President of the Sports and Entertainment Business Club and became the youngest MBA graduate in the school’s history. He resides in Anaheim Hills, Calif., with his wife, Peggy, and their daughters, Lyla and Eve.
