Fullerton, Calif. - Seventeen combined kills from Alex Wolnisty and Brittany Moore lifted Cal State Fullerton to its second straight sweep, as the Titans beat visiting Bucknell, 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-18), Sunday afternoon at Titan Gym.
Fullerton improved to 3-0 all-time over the Bisons and evened their overall season record at 10-10. Bucknell fell to 7-12.
Fullerton managed Bucknell handily, starting in the first set. The Titans jumped out to a 10-1 lead, all with Cami Croteau at the serving line. The Titans hit .370 in the first match to the Bisons' .036 in that set and out-hit them .265 to .012 on the match.
Moore, coming off a 21-kill night on Saturday, added another 10 on Sunday to lead all players in the match that lasted just 1:16.
The Titans, in non-conference play, were afforded the opportunity to get some playing time to some of their role players and also a freshman who played in her collegiate debut. Amada Hoffmann in her first game as a Titan, picked up a pair of digs and a service ace in her first serve.
The Titans also dominated at the net, out-blocking the Bisons 6.0 to 0.0, with Wolnisty leading the way with a pair of block assists. Moore and Sydney McDowell each picked up a solo block in the win.
Cal State Fullerton returns to Big West Conference play next Friday and Saturday night. The Titans will host Pacific (Oct. 17) and UC Davis (Oct. 18) at 7:0 p.m., respectively, at Titan Gym.
