Fullerton, Calif. - After sweeping Pacific in its Big West Conference opener on Friday night, three Titans collected double digits in kills as the Cal State Fullerton volleyball team knocked off visiting Cal State Northridge, 3-0 (30-28, 30-27, 30-27), Saturday evening in Titan Gymnasium.
Sarah Morrison, Alyssa Opeka and Breanna Trudeau led the Titan attack while Julie Giessert set 43 assists, keeping Fullerton (9-5, 2-0 BWC) undefeated in BWC play for the first time in school history. The home victory improved the Titans to 7-1 on its own floor. CSF was 13-4 last season, the program's best home record in school history.
Harmony Burdine paced Northridge (3-10, 1-2 BWC) with the match's only double-double, tallying 12 kills and 11 digs while setter Kayla Wright recorded 14 digs to go with 34 set assists.
The Titans will next travel to face UC Riverside on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. before heading to Davis Sept. 30 to face the Aggies. Fullerton's next home match will be Oct. 7 against UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m.
