Albuquerque, NM - Erin Saddler and Alex Wolnisty tallied 11 kills apiece as Cal State Fullerton snapped a brief two-match skid with a 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 victory over Pittsburgh Friday night at the Comcast Challenge on the campus of New Mexico.
Fullerton improves to 7-2 on the year while Pitt drops to .500 at 5-5.
Wolnisty hit with accuracy in the nightcap, leading the team with a .667 (11-1-15) attack percentage. The Titans out-hit the Panthers .257 to .175. Wolnisty also added a pair of blocks. Saddler, the conference's leading hitter, added six digs and a service ace in the win.
Meagan Dooly (11 kills) and Amy Town (10 kills) paced the Panther squad that played from behind most of the night.
Pittsburgh out-blocked the Titans 8.0 to 6.0 and were led by Imani Harper and Meagan Dooley who each had four blocks at the net. Jonny Hart had three blocks (1 solo), the most from Fullerton's side.
Libero Cami Croteau dug out 17 Panther kill attempts to lead all players, while Michell Rossi countered with 13 on the Pittsburgh side.
Fullerton will return to the floor Saturday to play Baylor at 2:45 p.m.
