CSF Splits Day One at Texas State Tourney

San Marcos, Texas - Juliana Klein pounded 19 kills as Missouri (4-2) defeated Cal State Fullerton (3-4) in a three-game sweep to open the 2007 CenturyTel Premier volleyball tournament at Texas State Friday morning at the Strahan Coliseum.
Brittany Moore, Alex Wolnisty and Erin Saddler combined for 24 total kills as the Titans hit just .158 as a team in the three-game loss. The Tigers countered with a .370 attack percentage, and were led by Klein and Na Yang, who added 15 kills of her own in the 30-24, 30-20, 30-17 win.
The Tigers edged the Titans in blocking 6-5 as a team with MU's Amanda Hantouli leading the match with CSF's Erin Saddler with three total blocks.
Fullerton came back in the night-cap with Texas State and turned their game around to beat the Bobcats 3-1 and to even their overall record at 4-4.
Brittany Moore provided the spark the Titans would need in match two, leading with an aerial assault of 25 kills, a career-high for the junior. Jennifer Francisco and Sara Day both added double digits in kills to also help propel the Titans in the 30-24, 25-30, 30-24, 30-28 victory.
Freshman Erin Saddler led the Titan squad with five blocks, but Texas State's Amy Weigle stuffed 6 Titan attack attempts to lead all players. Moore also added five aces, 11 digs and two block assists to lead all players with 31 total points.
Fullerton will wrap up tournament play in San Marcos, Texas, Saturday against Houston at Noon Pacific Time.
