Brown Lead Titans to Sweep of Panthers

Fullerton, Calif. - The Titans' Torrie Brown had 19 kills against her former school and led Cal State Fullerton to a 3-0 sweep of visiting Georgia State in match No. 4 of the Crowne Plaza Fullerton Titans Classic at Titan Gym.

The Titans improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in tournament play in the 25-19, 25-15, 30-28 win. The Panthers fall to 3-2, and 0-2 in the tourney.

Brown, who played for Georgia State in 2008 as a freshman, led all players with 19-kills and a .429 attack percentage against her former team. Kayla Neto (13-kills) and Erin Saddler (16 kills) combined for an additional 29 kills and helped the TItans to a .349 overall attack percentage.

Fullerton setter Andrea Ragan posted her second consecutive double-double with 49 assists and 11 digs.

Vineece Verdun hit .478 with 12 kills and 3 block assists to lead the Panthers. She was the only Georgia State player with more than 9 kills.

Fullerton had 68 team digs and just 2 block assists defensively and were led by Cami Croteau who scooped 21 digs. Audrey Cantrell had 20 digs for Georgia State.

The Titans will come back and play in the championship match tonight at 7 p.m. against Colorado.
