Fullerton, Calif. - Alex Wolnisty, Sarah Day and Erin Saddler had kills in double digits, but Cal State Fullerton (2-3) was unable to outlast Stony Brook (3-3) in match five of the Holiday Inn Buena Park Titan Classic Saturday afternoon in Titan Gym. The Seawolves edged the Titans in five games, 30-21, 30-23, 16-30, 26-30 and 15-9.
Jackie Ahlers led the Seawolves offense with 20 kills. She posted a team-high 23 total poins on the afternoon, adding two aces, seven digs and two block assists. Morgan Sweany added 16 kills, and Amy Oleksiej finished with 10, and a .455 attack percentage.
Fullerton out-blocked Stony Brook 10-4 as a team and was led by Wolnisty, who had seven total block including one solo. Her six block assits tied a career high and her 14 kills led the team. Saddler added three block assist on the day, also collecting 12 kills while hitting .545. The freshman blocker additionally led all players with three aces.
Four Titans collected double digits in digs, led by libero Cami Croteau with 14. The Seawolves' Noelle Bay paced the floor with 19 in the win.
Fullerton will return to the court at 7 p.m. for the Final game of the tournament against Portland State.
