Fullerton, Calif. - Behind a career-high 21 kills by Breanna Trudeau, the Cal State Fullerton Titans defeated Weber State 3-1 (30-25, 30-18, 27-30, 30-27) to improve to 2-0 in the Four Points Titan Classic at Titan Gym Saturday morning.
Fullerton improves to 4-0 on the season, their best start in Head Coach Carolyn Zimmerman's tenure at Cal State Fullerton. Weber State falls to 3-5.
Cal State Fullerton extended their single game winning streak to nine games as they took the first two games from the Wildcats. Fullerton hit .311 and .324 in the first two games before dropping the third match to end the winning streak.
Trudeau was the match's leader in kills and she also added nine digs and two block assists. Brittany Moore (12), Amanda Pfielschiefter (10) and Deven Bukoski (11) each had kills in double digits as the Titans out-killed the Wildcats 72-51.
Wilcat libero Keely Kap led all players in digs with 29, while Titan Vanessa Vella added 24.
Amy Duford led all players with six blocks for Weber State while the Titans' Pfielschiefter had five, including a solo. Fullerton out-blocked Weber State 10-7 as a team.
The Titans will return to the court at 7:00 p.m. for the final game of the Four Points Titan Classic.
