TOWSON, Md.--- Cal State Fullerton played its second four-set match of the day, but this time the Titans were able to come up on top, taking down Quinnipiac 3-1 (28-26, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20), Saturday afternoon at SECU Arena.
The Titans (4-6) ended the Towson Tiger Invitational on a high note, as they managed to go 2-2 in the tournament.
As she's done all tournament, Madeline Schneider led the way, posting a team-high 15 kills, while recording 14 digs and a stellar attack percentage of .406. Shimen Fayad made her presence felt, as she produced 14 kills and eight digs, while Savahna Costello led all players with 16 digs.
Summer Kerins led all Titans with three blocks in the win.
Fullerton managed to claw its way to an important 28-26 first set victory to set the tone. The Titans have now taken each of their last three opening sets.
The positive momentum continued into the second set, as the Titans cruised to a 25-20 victory to put them up 2-0.
After dropping a close 25-22 third set, Fullerton saved its best last for last, as it boasted a match-high .250 attack percentage in the fourth set. The Titans took the set 25-20 to clinch the match.
The Titans will continue their six-match road swing when they take on Indiana State, Friday at 3 pm PT.
