Titans Wrap Up Day One at ITA Regionals

SAN DIEGO, CA - Cal State Fullerton sophomore Erin Wiesener won her first round match-up against Arizona State's Amanda Martin while teammate Shelly Injejikian lost her opener in the first day of action at the ITA West Regionals hosted by San Diego State on Thursday.

Wiesener posted a straight-set, 6-3, 6-1, victory over Martin to open tournament play, but fell to No. 5-ranked Andrea Remynse of UCLA, 6-1, 6-2, in the second round. She is scheduled to face San Diego's Ellie Faulkner on Friday morning (Oct. 24) at 9:30 a.m. in the consolation bracket with the winner taking on Hawaii's Melinda Wong in the third round at 12:30 p.m.

Injejikian lost her opener in straight sets to UC Riverside's Roxanne Plata, 6-3, 6-4, and will meet San Diego State's Milana Yusupov at 10:30 a.m. in Friday's consolation action.

The duo then teamed up for doubles play, falling to UNLV's Anna Maskaljun and Alisa Razina, 8-2, in the first round.
