FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton failed to advance in three winner's brackets on Saturday at the Beach Tennis Fall Invite hosted by Long Beach State.
In the Flight A singles bracket, both Karla Portalatin and Sarah Nuno suffered quarterfinal losses. Portalatin fell, 7-5, 6-2, to Grand Canyon's Tatum Prudhomme, while Nuno was edged, 6-3, 6-2 by Portland's Radina Dimitrovam.
Sophomore Luxizi Meng was defeated by CSUN's Elisa Elhadj, 6-1, 6-2 in quarterfinal action for the Flight C bracket.
Caroleen Faraji defeated UCR's Nicole Hitomi 2-6,6-2,7-6 (3) on the consolation side of the Flight D bracket, before losing to CSUN's Arpe Bagumyan, 6-0, 6-2, in the next round.
In doubles play, Long Beach State's Julie Gerard and Maren Helgo (LBSU) moved past Nuno and Portalatin, 6-3, to advance to Sunday's final in the Flight A doubles bracket.
The Titans will return to action on Sunday.
