FULLERTON, CA -- - Former Cal State Fullerton All-Americans Jodie Cox and Jenny Topping were named to the 2005 National Pro Fastpitch East All-Star team the league announced on Wednesday (Aug. 10).
The NPF All-Star Game will be held prior to the start of the 2005 playoffs at 7 p.m. on Aug. 27 at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill., home of the league's Chicago Bandits.
Cox is 12-2 with a 1.46 ERA in the circle for the New York/New Jersey Juggernaut, striking out 75 batters in 91 innings. She ranks tied for third in the league in wins, sixth in innings pitched, eighth in strikeouts, and 10th in ERA (as of Aug. 11). Cox is also hitting .304 at the plate with six doubles and 12 RBI.
Topping is also having a bang-up first professional season with the Akron Racers while also splitting time with the U.S. National Team. She is hitting .446 with a pair of home runs and 15 RBI and ranks in the top 10 in five different offensive categories: average (4th), home runs (t-8th), walks (t-4th with 23), on base percentage (2nd with .622), and slugging (4th with .643).
