Former Softball Standouts to Compete Overseas

FULLERTON, CA - Former Cal State Fullerton softball standouts Lauren Lupinetti and Jessica Doucette have signed on to compete with a Russian club team later this month at the 2009 European Cup in Legnano, Italy.
The tournament runs from Aug. 17-22 and features clubs from nine different countries. The Titans' trio will compete for the Carousel Bosco Sport club from the Russian Softball Federation.

Lupinetti (2007-09) recently completed her collegiate career with the Titans last season, batting .260 with six home runs and 23 RBI while helping Cal State Fullerton to its fifth-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. For her career, Lupinetti batted .280 for the Titans with 16 home runs and 74 BRI.
Doucette (2007-08) played two seasons for the Titans in the field and in the circle, posting a 21-18 mark as a pitcher with a 2.39 ERA and 210 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .220 average. At the plate, Doucette excelled at the top of the order, batting .268 for her Fullerton career with 14 home runs and 52 RBI while slugging .466 in her two seasons.
