Softball Falls to Colorado State in Nine Innings

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA - Colorado State scored five times in the top of the ninth and then turned away Cal State Fullerton in the bottom half of the inning to claim a 10-5 victory in the final game for both teams on day two of the Cathedral City Classic on Saturday night.

Junior Torrie Anderson, who had two hits and a home run in the Titans' victory over Baylor in their first game of the day, finished 3-for-4 with her team-best fifth home run of the season.

Sophomore Trina Harrison added an RBI double and pitcher Ari Cervantes drove in another run for Fullerton, which fell to 3-11 overall on the season.

Cervantes, who earned the complete-game win against the Bears, started in the circle and once again went the distance against the Rams, but was saddled with the loss to fall to 1-3 overall on the year.

Cal State Fullerton closes out tournament play on Sunday (Feb. 28) as they take on Ohio State at 8:30 am and Syracuse at 12:30 pm.
