Played four seasons for the Mariners, helping Pacifica HS to a pair of CIF titles as a freshman and senior, and a runner-up finish as a junior... helped the Mariners to league titles in 2005-06... In a senior season cut short because of various ailments, Hiner finished as a second-team all-county selection by the Orange County Register, posting a 7-2 record with a 0.69 ERA while hitting .348 on the season in helping the Mariners to the CIF Division II title... three-time all-league selection, including first-team All-Garden Grove League honors as a junior and second-team All-Empire League laurels as a senior... hit .405 as a junior to rank fourth in the league to go with 19 RBI and 15 extra base hits... also went 10-3 in the circle with a 0.88 ERA and 61 strikeouts.
