FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (10-6) came out with a walk-off 3-2 victory to upset No. 20 Oregon to begin their Judi Garman Classic slate. It's the team's fifth walk-off win this season and their first win over a ranked opponent this season.
Taylor Dockins got the start against the Ducks and had her best outing of the year. Throwing three innings, the sophomore right-hander shutout Oregon only allowing two hits and a walk while striking out two. Sophie Frost came in to relieve her, but faced four batters and failed to record an out giving up two runs on a pair of hits and a pair of walks. Dani Martinez would come in and absolutely dominate the Ducks with four shutout innings only allowing one hit while striking out four.
Deshea Hill was the hero with the bat coming through with a 2-4 performance with two RBI including the walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh. Ari Williams had a 1-3 game with her fourth home run of the season while Alexa Neil went 1-3 with a run scored. Sam Kennedy and Zoe Richard each recorded a knock in the ballgame while Lauren Amezcua got the offense going in the seventh with her first career hit.
The Titans got on the board in the bottom of the first thanks to Williams' solo home run, her fourth of the season and would tack on another run in the bottom of the third thanks to a Hill RBI single plating Neil.
Oregon would tie the game up against Frost in the fourth on a pair of hits and a pair of walks. Martinez would come out of the pen with the bases loaded, nobody out and get the next three Duck hitters without allowing a run to come across.
Martinez would go on to retire 11 straight before surrendering a hit to Oregon keeping the Titans in the game and giving them a chance to win it in the seventh.

After Amezcua came through with her first career hit to get the offense going, Neil would lay down a sac bunt to move the runner into scoring position. Williams would be intentionally walked to bring up Hill, who sent a shot back up the middle and by the shortstop to plate the winning run.
Cal State Fullerton picks up their first win over a ranked opponent to open up their Judi Garman Classic weekend. They will take on the Huskies of UConn tomorrow night with first pitch now scheduled for 8:15 p.m.
