Titans Open Four-Game Homestand Against SDSU

FULLERTON, CA - With its record fully entrenched at the .500 mark, the Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team (4-4-1 overall) will forgo travelling for a while as the Titans open a four-match homestand this weekend at Titan Stadium. Fullerton welcomes San Diego State to north Orange County on Friday night (Sept. 26) for a 7 p.m. kick-off before a mid-week clash with Hawaii on Tuesday (Sept. 30) at 7 p.m.

IN THE POLLS: Neither Cal State Fullerton nor San Diego State or Hawaii are ranked nationally entering this weekend's match.

If you're near your computer, you can log on to www.FullertonTitans.com and catch the live play-by-play from veteran Titan soccer broadcaster Michael Martinez, who will have the call of Friday night's match against San Diego State. Live streaming video will be unavailable this weekend due to a conflict with Fullerton's women's volleyball match against Cal Poly.

SCOUTING THE AZTECS: San Diego State enters the weekend with a 3-4-1 overall record after defeating UC Riverside, 3-1, at home last week... the win snapped a four-match winless streak for the Aztecs (0-3-1), who hadn't won since a 2-1 victory over Arizona State on Aug. 31... SDSU is 2-1 against the Big West this season, also defeating Cal Poly (1-0) and falling to Cal State Northridge 2-1) in double overtime... Cat Walker and Jessica Gordon led the team in scoring with three goals and seven points apiece... five other players have also found the back of the net... Aubree Southwick has appeared in all eight matches in goal, posting a 1.80 goals against average and 32 saves to go along with a shutout.

VERSUS SAN DIEGO STATE: The Aztecs lead the all-time series with the Titans, 7-3... Fullerton has won two of the last three meetings, including a 3-0 triumph in San Diego in 2006... The Aztecs have won four of the five all-time meetings in Fullerton.

AGAINST THE MOUNTAIN WEST: Friday's match against SDSU will be the Titans' second-straight meeting with a Mountain West Conference school after posting a 1-1 tie with Utah on Sept. 21... Cal State Fullerton is 9-16-1 all-time against Mountain West Conference opponents.

SCOUTING THE RAINBOW WAHINE: Hawaii enters the weekend with a 3-3-2 overall record as it opens a three-match roadtrip that ends next Tuesday in Fullerton... the Rainbow Wahine will meet Portland State on Friday (Sept. 26) and No. 21 Washington on Sunday (Sept. 28) before heading to Orange County to take on the Titans... Hawaii posted a 2-1 overtime win over UC Santa Barbara in its last match and is unbeaten in its last three (2-0-1) entering this weekend... nine different players have found the back of the net this season, six of those with multiple goals... Ambree Ako leads the way with four goals and nine points while Taryn Fukuroku has three goals and three assists... Kori Lu leads the way in net with a 1.61 goals against average and 28 saves in eight starts.

VERSUS HAWAII: Cal State Fullerton is 4-1 all-time against Hawaii, winning the last four straight meetings... all five meetings with the Rainbow Wahine have come at Titan Stadium... the two teams last met in 2005 with the Titans posting a 3-0 victory... Fullerton holds an 11-4 scoring advantage in the series with a pair of shutouts.

AGAINST THE WAC: The match against Hawaii will be the only meeting with a Western Athletic Conference school for Cal State Fullerton this season... Fullerton is 24-11-1 all-time against the WAC, including winning its last seven straight against current conference members dating back to a 2-1 loss to Fresno State on Oct. 27, 2002.
