Sept. 6, 2006

FULLERTON, CA - Adding to her award haul this week, Cal State Fullerton senior goalkeeper Karen Bardsley was named to both the Soccer Buzz and Soccer America National Teams of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.

For Bardsley, who was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week on Monday, it is her second career appearance on the Soccer Buzz honor roll and her first-ever appearance on the Soccer America team of the week.

The senior netminder was named Co-Most Valuable Player of the California Invitational last weekend, making a combined 18 saves as the Titans defeated Saint Mary's and battled then-No. 10 California to a scoreless tie.

During the weekend, Bardsley set a school record for minutes played (4,654) and stands just 31 saves away from tying the career record.

Fullerton continues its eight-match September road trip this week with a single match on Friday (Sept. 8) at 7 p.m. at San Diego.
