Wilson Named Player of the Week for Second Time

Oct. 18, 2004

Fullerton, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton junior forward Kandace Wilson was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, winning the award for the second time this season and the third time in her career.

Wilson, who earned player of the week laurels on Aug. 30 after her hat trick against Fresno State, did one better last weekend in helping lift the Titans to victories over Pacific (3-1) and Cal State Northridge (3-2 in overtime).

She scored twice on Friday night against the Tigers and added two more on Sunday, including the game-winner :16 into the first overtime, to down Northridge.

Wilson, who leads the team with seven goals on the year, moved into a tie for second all-time on the school's career goals scored (24) and points (54) lists with her efforts. She trails only Dolores Browning, who scored 61 career goals and amassed 140 career points, in both categories.

The Titans return to action this weekend as they face off against Utah State on Friday night (Oct. 22) at 7 p.m. and Idaho on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 24) at 1 p.m., in the final homestand of the season.
