Khosroshahin to Assist Mexican National Program

Fullerton, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer Head Coach Ali Khosroshahin has been selected to join the coaching staff of the Mexican Women's National Program.

"I am very humbled and honored to be given this tremendous opportunity," said Khosroshahin, who was on the bench for Mexico's recent friendly against the United States on May 9 in Albuquerque, N.M.

His primary responsibility will be to assist the U-19 Women's National Team qualify for the FIFA Youth World Championships by participating in a CONCACAF regional qualifying tournament to be held in Canada from May 28 to June 6. Mexico is in Group A alongside Canada, Jamaica, and Panama.

Matches will be held at Ottawa's Frank Clair Stadium and Montreal's McGill University Molson Stadium with the top two finishers advancing to represent the region at the FIFA U-19 World Championship in Thailand in November, 2004.

Khosroshahin will also be assisting Head Coach Leonardo Cuellar with the Mexican National Team in its preparation for its first Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, this summer. No stranger to the Mexico sidelines, Khosroshahin also assisted Cuellar during the 1999 Women's World Cup.
