Waipio, Oahu – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer won 2-1 in the final match of the 2018 season on Sunday afternoon at Hawai'i. Atlanta Primus scored first to put the Titans on top then after the Wahine equalized, Nano Oronoz, in her final match as a Titan, scored the game-winning goal.
Primus scored for the second straight match and gave the Titans a 1-0 lead at the 24:53 mark. Maddie Bennett supplied the ball to Primus who was running into the 18-yard box, she then let the defender run by her and calmly passed the ball into the net for her sixth goal of the year.
Hawai'i equalized in the 58th minute on a Sarah Lau goal. She collected a loose ball in the box and chipped the ball back towards the goal in what may have been an attempted cross, but either way, the ball sailed over everybody's head and into the net at the far post.
Oronoz netted the game winner at the 66:25 mark in what was also her sixth goal of the season, tying Primus for the most on the squad. Oronoz appeared to be in an offside position or close to it at least, but the flag did not come up because a Hawai'i defender kicked the ball back to her to put her one-on-one with the goalkeeper and she blasted the shot into the upper corner to put CSF back in front for good.
Goalkeeper Allison Poole saved a Wahine penalty kick at the 87:39 mark to secure the win for the Titans. Poole tallied seven saves for the match.
Hawai'i took 19 shots (eight on target) to nine (five on target) for the Titans. Hawai'i also won four corner kicks to three for Fullerton.
