FULLERTON, Calif. - Golleher Alumni House held the fifth annual kick-off fundraiser last Saturday after the annual Blue-Orange Scrimmage. The wine mixer drew over 200 people to attend and partake in a silent auction, and a call for donations to raise money for the Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team. The program raised over $30,000, all of which directly benefit head coach Demian Brown's team.
Attendees were afforded the opportunity to interact with the 2018 squad as well as dinner and drinks as the night went on. Athletic director Jim Donovan spoke on behalf of the athletic department thanking all the guests.
Brown, who is entering his 12th year at the helm of the program, spoke to the attendees as well and provided a recap of the 2017 season and the team's trip to Europe in the spring of 2018. Last, but not certainly not least he introduced the 2018 squad.
The team continues the preseason this weekend with an exhibition match at San Diego State on Friday at 7 p.m. PT and then return home to Titan Stadium to face CSUN in an exhibition set for a 5 p.m. start. Officially, the 2018 begins on Aug. 17 at Titan Stadium when Brown's squad hosts BYU at 7 p.m. PT.
