FULLERTON, Calif. – Over 150 guests joined the Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team last Saturday at the Kick-Off Event, celebrating the upcoming season as the 2014 Titans aim to defend their 2013 Big West Tournament championship.

Following the team's first intrasquad scrimmage, Titan supporters joined student-athletes and coaches at the Women's Soccer Kick-Off Event, netting over $10,000 in fundraising. All proceeds will go to support the women's soccer program.

The evening was held in conjunction with the Alumni Association and held at the Golleher Alumni House.

"We want to thank all the family, friends and alumni that attended and made the event a huge success," eighth-year head coach Demian Brown said. "We also want to thank Twisted Vine for the great food and wine. Thanks to everyone for their continued support of our program."

Junior defender Morgan Batcheller closed the evening by thanking all the guests in attendance.

Cal State Fullerton returns to action at 7 p.m., Friday, in an exhibition match at San Diego State. The Titans will play in their final tune-up at 1 p.m., Sunday, hosting Grand Canyon at Titan Stadium. Admission is free.

Fullerton opens the 2014 season officially with four straight home matches, beginning with 22nd-ranked BYU on Friday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. The Titans will also host Michigan State (4 p.m., Aug. 24), No. 25 Denver (7 p.m., Aug. 29) and Georgia (1 p.m., Aug. 31).
