Getting To Know Dominique DeCoy

FULLERTON, Calif. – In February, Cal State Fullerton women's soccer head coach Demian Brown inked his 2014 signing class to National Letters of Intent.

 Throughout the spring, FullertonTitans.com will "Get to Know" the newest Titans, that will step on campus for the 2014-15 academic year.

The fourth 2014 Titan signee to join FullertonTitans.com for the Q&A is defender Dominique DeCoy of San Diego.

FullertonTitans.com: Why did you decide to attend Cal State Fullerton and play for the Titans?

Dominique: I decided to attend Cal State Fullerton because the campus is beautiful along with the soccer facility. The team is welcoming; the players support each and work hard, which is exactly what I was looking for. I like the coaching style and how the staff continues to teach the players how to play the game.  I knew it was the right fit after spending time with the team and coaches.

 

FullertonTitans.com: What is the best advice you have ever received?

 

Dominique: The best advice that I have ever received, which works for both life and soccer, is that you should walk away knowing you had no regrets and you gave it your all. 

 

FullertonTitans.com: Your favorite travel destination and why?

 

Dominique: My favorite travel destination would be Kansas because that's where my club team won Nationals.

 

FullertonTitans.com: If you were stranded on a desert island, what is the one thing you would bring and why?

 

Dominique: If I were stranded on a desert island, I would bring a survival expert because he/she would know what to do in that situation.

 

FullertonTitans.com: What would you describe you style of play as?

 

Dominique: I would describe my style of play as simple.

 

FullertonTitans.com: Tell us about your favorite moment on the soccer field?

 

Dominique: My favorite moment on the soccer field would be the finals of Nationals when my teammate had to convert her penalty kick in order for us to win. As soon as she made it, it was amazing moment.

 

FullertonTitans.com: If you could switch places with one person for one day, who would it be and why?

 

Dominique: If I could switch places with one person for the day it would be Beyoncé because she can sing, dance, and she's rich.

 

FullertonTitans.com:  What should Cal State Fullerton fans know about you?

 

Dominique: Fans should know that every match, I play for my inspiration and role model, my sister Unique, who passed away a year ago.
