RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton's five-match unbeaten streak was snapped in a 1-0 loss to UC Riverside at UCR Soccer Stadium on Sunday night.
UCR's Jessica Olafsen scored in the fourth minute, and Highlander goalkeeper Elizabeth Silas made seven saves for the remainder of the match to prevent the Titans from notching the equalizer.
It was Kelly Velasquez's cross from the left side that set up Olfasen's first score of the year.
Cal State Fullerton (6-4-4, 1-1-1) took a match-high 10 shots – seven on goal - but UCR's defense didn't break. The Highlanders improve to 6-8-1 on the year and 3-1 in Big West Conference play.
