Titan Gymnastics Hosts UCLA and San Jose State in First-Ever "Pink Meet"
Jan. 17, 2007 FULLERTON, CA - The Cal State Fullerton women's gymnastics team will host its first-ever "Pink Meet" during Friday night's (Jan. 19) meet at Titan Gym to help promote breast cancer awareness and prevention. The Titans will take on perennial national power No. 7 UCLA and Western Athletic Conference rival San Jose State in a tri-meet beginning at 7 p.m. All three teams will be wearing pink to show their support for research toward the prevention of and cure for breast cancer. Children attending the event wearing pink will be invited to participate in forming a tunnel during the introduction of all three teams. Representatives of the Susan Love Research Foundation will be on hand to distribute informational materials and details on current research projects. Dr. Susan Love, a member of the National Cancer Advisory Panel, is known worldwide for her advocacy and research on breast cancer prevention. One of her books, "Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book," has been described by the New York Times as "the bible for women with breast cancer."
