SAN JOSE, CA - Cal State Fullerton senior Alaina Baker took home conference titles on floor and the individual all-around while Head Coach Jill Hicks was named Coach of the Year for the second time on Saturday night, leading the Titans to a season-high 191.650 at the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Championships hosted by San Jose State.

Boise State claimed the overall championship with a 195.700, winning three events as a team and finishing second on beam. The Broncos were followed by Southern Utah (194.825), San Jose State (193.925), Sacramento State (193.550), Utah State (191.850), and Fullerton.

Baker tied her career high with a 9.90 and nearly matched her career best in the all-around with a 39.125, earning first-team all-conference honors on both events and edging out Southern Utah's Ari Lamb for the all-around crown by .025 of a point. Baker, who narrowly missed her career high of 39.200, became the first Titan to win a conference event title since Kelly Mathiasen won the Western Gymnastics Conference beam title in 2003 and Fullerton's first conference all-around champ since Mathiasen won the Big West Conference crown in 2001.

Senior Shelly Cooper also had herself a stellar night, setting a career high in the all-around with a 38.775 to finish fourth and earn second-team honors. She posted her best finish on floor with a season-high 9.825 to finish in a tie for second and earn first-team honors. Cooper also earned second-team honors on vault, scoring a season-best 9.825 to finish in a tie for fourth.

Hicks, in her fifth season, was voted as the conference's Coach of the Year for the second time since taking over the Titans' program, earning the first award as a rookie coach in 2007.

Cal State Fullerton now awaits individual selections for the NCAA Regional competition which will be held on April 2 at one of six sites: Ann Arbor, MI, Athens, GA, Corvallis, OR, Denver, CO, Norman, OK, and Tuscaloosa, AL.
