Titans Rally to Beat ASU on Senior Day

Sun Devils Suffer Three Falls on Beam

	Senior Erica Ficarrotta won the uneven parallel bars with a career best score of 9.825 as she and the Titan seniors went out with a victory over Arizona State.

Fullerton, Calif. - Senior Erica Ficarrotta won the uneven parallel bars and finished second in the all-around Sunday afternoon as Cal State Fullerton wrapped up its home women's gymnastics schedule with a come-from-behind 193.550-193.175 victory over Arizona State.

Ficarrotta scored a personal best 9.825 to win the bars and teammate Shannon Kawada also had a personal best with a 9.825 to capture the vault. All-around winner April Boone of Arizona State won the floor with a 9.90 and tied for first with teammate Nicole Harris on beam with a 9.875 on her way to an all-around score of 39.350.

The Sun Devils led by a full point, 145.475-144.475, going into the final rotation. They swept the top three places on balance beam but also suffered three falls and two of them counted and contributed to a team score of 47.700. Meanwhile, the Titans had their best event of the day with a 49.075 on floor exercise.

Arizona State also was hampered by an injury to Kaitlynn Bormann, who fell awkwardly on her vault landing and had to be scratched from the balance beam rotation.

Joining Ficarrotta in their final home appearances for the Titans were seniors Brittany Evans, Nicole Lim, Jaime Howe and Ina Higashi-Izumi. Lim had the best score of the group with a personal best 9.875 to tie for second on floor exercise.

Fullerton is now 8-6 on the season and has one more meeet -- Mar. 23 at Oregon State -- on the schedule prior to Western Athletic Conference championships.
