Titans Score Season High But Fall at San Jose State

SAN JOSE, CA - Cal State Fullerton senior Erica Ficarrotta scored a season-high 38.425 in the all-around and the Titans posted a season-high 192.800 as a team, but could not come away with a win at San Jose State as the Spartans won the Western Athletics Conference dual meet with a 193.250 on Friday night in San Jose, Calif.

The Titans surpassed their previous high of 192.225 set on Jan. 26 in a quad meet against Southern Utah, UC Davis, and Hamline University. Fullerton also set a season-high with a 48.350 on beam.

Ficarrotta finished second in the all-around, posting her highest finish on bars where she scored a 9.725 to finish second on the apparatus.

Senior Nicole Lim also tied a season-high with a 9.825 to win beam.

The Spartans were led by Veronica Porte, who won the all-around with a 39.050 and won two events: placing first on bars with a 9.775 and winning floor with a 9.85. Michelle Minotti also won vault for San Jose State with a 9.75.

Cal State Fullerton returns to Titan Gym for its final home meet of the season on Sunday (March 11) at 2 p.m. as the Titans host Arizona State.
