FULLERTON, CA - Cal State Fullerton senior Alaina Baker claimed individual titles on vault and floor while finishing second in the all-around and the Titans posted their second-highest score of the season Friday night, but it wasn't enough to topple visiting Sacramento State in a Western Athletic Conference dual meet at Titan Gym.

The Hornets scored a 191.375 to improve to 5-4 overall on the season and 2-1 against WAC opponents this season while Fullerton posted a 188.725 to fall to 0-4 overall and 0-3 against league schools.

Baker, one of three Titan all-arounders on the night, finished with a 38.225 in the all-around - the third time in four meets this season she has topped 38 points - while finishing atop the medal stand on vault (a season-high 9.775) and floor (a season-high 9.825). She also finished in a tie for second on bars with a season-best 9.70.

Taylor Kearns matched Baker on bars with a season-high score and both were followed closely by Shelly Cooper in fourth as she scored a 9.65 on the event - matching her season high. Freshman Katie Renecker led the way on beam for the Titans, finishing in a tie for third with a 9.525, while Cooper was fourth with a career-high 9.70.

Sacramento State's Amanda Blauvelt won the individual all-around with a 38.350 as the Hornets' only all-arounder for the meet. Elideth Guerrero also took home individual honors on beam, scoring a 9.80 for first place.

The Titans held the early lead after the first rotation, posting a vault score of 47.250 - almost three-tenths better than Sacramento State's bars score of 46.975. However, the Hornets took the lead for good in rotation two, parlaying a 48.025 on vault into a half-point lead and the never looked back.

Sacramento State followed that up with a 48.475 on floor - the highest score in any event on the night - to boost its lead to almost three points and finished with a 47.900 on beam to match Fullerton's closing performance on floor.

The Titans' 188.725 stands behind only the 189.175 scored at Boise State on Feb. 4 while Fullerton set a season-high with its 47.275 on bars.

A dual meet against Minnesota closes out a three-meet homestand for the Titans as they battle the Golden Gophers on Friday (Feb. 25) at 7 p.m. at Titan Gym.
