FULLERTON, CA - Shelly Cooper, Jessica Tait and Alaina Baker each took home individual honors to help host Cal State Fullerton to a season-high score, but the Titans were edged out by visiting Utah State, 191.700-191.600, in a Western Athletic Conference women's gymnastics dual meet on Sunday afternoon at Titan Gym.

Fullerton (3-3 overall) took the early lead after two rotations, setting season high's with a 48.675 on vault and a 48.350 on bars to lead the Aggies by almost six-tenths of a point. However, Utah State was able to rally back as the Aggies posted a 48.450 on floor - matching their highest score of the day - while the Titans struggled to stay up on beam, scoring just a 45.850 in the event to fall behind by two points entering the final rotation.

Not one to stay down, Cal State Fullerton made their comeback on floor, posting four scores of 9.725 or better - including Alaina Baker's event-winning 9.875 and Melissa Schafer's third-place score of 9.80 - to post a team total of 48.725 - the team's second-highest score in that event this season.

However, Utah State hung tough, scoring a 46.775 on beam in its final event to eke out the victory by one-tenth of a point.

Cooper was one of three Titans to set career-high's on bars as she won the event with a 9.80, tying with Utah State's Heather Heinrich atop the podium. Sophomore Britni Echeverria also shined with a season-high 9.775 to finish third in the event. Tait's 9.575 and Taylor Miller's 9.525 were career-bests.

Tait shined on beam, winning the event with a 9.725, while Baker also finished second in the all-around with a 38.175. The Aggies' Heinrich took home individual all-around honors with a 38.650 while Jasmine Minion - who won vault with a 9.875 - finished third with a 37.450.

Cal State Fullerton returns to the gym on Friday (Feb. 1) at 6 p.m. as the Titans travel to Cedar City, Utah, to take on Southern Utah, Boise State, and BYU in a quad meet.
