Former Cal State Fullerton standout Alana Mouery returns to the squad for the 2010 season as a volunteer assistant coach on Head Coach Jill Hicks' staff. Mouery competed four years for the Titans from 2006-09 as a vault specialist and starring in the classroom, earning Scholastic All-America honors from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches three times as well as a trio of All-Academic Team laurels from the Western Athletic Conference. The Salem, Oregon, native competed in every regular season meet for the Titans during her career in Orange County, averaging a career best 9.695 as a senior in 11 meets. She set a career high in 2009 in the event, scoring a 9.85 on Feb. 27 in a quad meet hosted by Missouri. Born Jan. 25, 1987, Mouery competed for the Salem Gymnastics Center before joining the Titans, twice qualifying for nationals in 2004-05. She also finished eighth on vault at the 2002 Western Nationals and won vault at the 2002 Level 9 regional competition. A health science major with a minor in chemistry at Cal State Fullerton, her parents are Ed and Judy and she has a brother, Kyle. |
