Thomas, who was also named to the all-conference second team, joins Eugenia Miller-Rycraw (1987-88) and Kisa Hughes (1991-92) as conference freshman of the year honorees after ranking among Big West leaders in scoring (9th), rebounding (5th), field goal percentage (5th), free throw percentage (3rd), and offensive rebounds (1st).
She averaged 12.2 points (second on the team) and a team-best 7.0 rebounds per game this season while shooting .476 from the field and .788 from the free throw line. Of her 189 rebounds, 100 of those were on the offensive end (53 percent).
Pruitt, who was named the league's "Sixth Woman of the Year" last season, earned her first career all-conference honor, ranking in the top 10 in scoring (10th), rebounding (t9th), field goal percentage (9th), and defensive rebounds (6th).
She averaged 12.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting 42 percent from the floor and 46 percent from three-point range.
Cal State Fullerton finished the season 11-16 overall and 7-7 in the Big West Conference, posting the most wins in a single-season since 1994-95 squad went 14-15 overall, and posting the highest non-divisional conference finish (3rd) since the NCAA Tournament-bound 1990-91 team also finished third.
The Titans are the No. 3 seed in this year's Big West Conference Tournament in Anaheim, Calif., and received a first-round bye. Fullerton will meet the lowest remaining seed after the first round on Thursday (March 9) at noon at the Anaheim Convention Center.
