Cal State Fullerton freshman forward Toni Thomas was named the Big West Conference's women's basketball Player of the Week on Monday after helping the Titans to a pair of wins over Pacific and UC Riverside.
The San Bernardino, Calif., native came off the bench in Fullerton's victory over Pacific on Monday (Jan. 9), finishing with 15 points and grabbing eight rebounds. In Saturday's victory over UC Riverside (Jan. 14), the 5-11 forward recorded her second double-double of the season with 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, including six offensive boards.
Cal State Fullerton's win over UCR increased the Titans' win streak to three and elevated them to fourth in the conference overall at 3-2.
For the week, Thomas averaged 14 points and nine rebounds while shooting 50 percent (11-of-22) from the field in 24 minutes per game.
The Titans return to action this week as they hit the road to take on Long Beach State on Thursday (Jan. 19) at 7:30 p.m. and UC Irvine on Saturday (Jan. 21) at 4 p.m.
