FULLERTON, CA - Cal State Fullerton sophomore Ashley Richie scored a game-high 17 points and led four other teammates in double figures as the host Titans posted an, 87-49, exhibition victory over Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon at Titan Gym.

Richie hit on 6-of-12 from the field and added a game-high six steals in the victory. Senior Toni Thomas finished with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds (seven of those on the offensive end) while playing only a half.

Junior Jasmine Scott came off the bench to add 14 points while senior Daviyonne Weathersby (12 points) and sophomore Lyndsey Grove (10 points) also finished in double digits.

The Golden Eagles were led by Cassie Suffolk's eight points while Sequoia Crandall paced Cal State Los Angeles on the boards with six.

Fullerton dominated from the opening tip, scoring the game's first 15 points and leading by as many as 19 points in the first eight minutes of the contest. Crandell hit a short jumper at the 15:21 mark to break the Golden Eagles' scoreless run.

The Titans, who shot 47 percent from the field in the first half and 45 percent for the game, led by as many as 27 points in the opening period on two occassions and built that lead to as many as 33 points just three minutes into the second half. Fullerton led by as many as 41 points in the game with just over three minutes left to play.

Relentless pressure by the Titans' defense forced 37 turnovers by the Golden Eagles, turning those into 53 points in Fullerton's favor. The Titans finished with 22 steals on the day and outrebounded CSULA by a 47-37 margin.

Cal State Fullerton opens the 2008-09 regular season on Friday (Nov. 14) as the Titans host Santa Clara at 7 p.m. at Titan Gym.
