Assistant Coach (3rd Season)

UC Riverside '05

Former UC Riverside standout Crystal Harris returns to her Big West Conference roots and returns for her third season as an assistant coach with the Cal State Fullerton program in 2011-12.

Harris joined the Titans' program after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Division II Ferris State in Big Rapids, Mich., helping the Bulldogs to a 30-27 record and a 21-19 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

While at Ferris, Harris assisted with the program's administrative, coaching and recruiting responsibilities. The Bulldogs made back-to-back GLIAC Tournament appearances during her tenure and she served as the squad's interim head coach and handled the daily operations for several games at the end of the year while head coach Tracey Dorow was away on maternity leave.

With Harris at the helm, the sixth-seeded Bulldogs upset third-seeded Northwood in the opening round of the conference tournament on the road to advance to the semifinals for the third-straight year.

Her coaching resume also includes one season as an assistant coach at Palomar College in San Marcos, Calif., and a season as an undergraduate assistant at her alma mater in 2004-05 after a stellar four-year career with the Highlanders.

A three-time All-Big West honoree, Harris averaged 10.3 points per game during her four-year playing career and finished her collegiate career ranked sixth on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,271 points. She also ranks among the school's career leaders in numerous categories including games played (t2nd), field goals (5th), minutes (7th), free throws (6th), and free throw percentage (7th).

She enjoyed her best season as a senior, averaging 15.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and shooting 43 percent from the field. The two-time team captain averaged double figures in scoring in each of her final three collegiate seasons and twice earned the team's MVP award.

Harris' playing career continued on the professional level, competing one season with the San Diego Siege of the National Women's Basketball League in 2006 and overseas with Club Elfic in Switzerland and Club HBC in Denmark from September 2006 to May 2007.

A native of Vista, Calif., Harris prepped at Rancho Buena Vista where she was a three-time All-Palomar League honoree and a two-time all-county selection.

The daughter of Jeff and Cheri Harris, she graduated from UC Riverside with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a minor in education in 2005. She has two brothers, Ryan and Cameron, and a sister Amber.
