FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's basketball led by eight at the halftime break and by ten at one point in the third quarter but the Titans could not hang on to that lead and ultimately lost 73-64 to CSUN on Saturday night on Women's Empowerment Day.
Four Titans scored in double figures and the Titans were shooting 42% from the field. Raina Perez led the team in scoring with 14 points along with four assists. Daeja Smith chipped in 13 points and six rebounds. Amiee Book had 12 points including four three-point field goals and seven rebounds. Jade Vega also had 12 points and led the team with eight assists. Hannah Thompson scored eight points off the bench in 25 minutes.
After scoring 22 points in the first quarter and 19 in the second but scored just eight in the third and 15 in the fourth. CSUN shot 45.5% from the floor and 73.9% from the charity stripe at 17-23.
The squad returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Titan Gym for Women's Empowerment Day where all women are allowed free entrance into the gym for the game.
