Top Seeds Win Eight Brackets at Fullerton Open

Nov. 18, 2007

Fullerton, Calif. - Form prevailed and four different schools claimed a pair of individual championships Sunday in the Fullerton Open Wrestling Tournament hosted by Cal State Fullerton.

Eight of the top-seeded wrestlers won their bracket and wrestlers from Fullerton, Cal Poly, Embry-Riddle and Sierra Community College pulled off the double victories. There was no team scoring.

For the Titans, No. 1 seeds Morgan Atkinson at 149 pounds and Ian Murphy at 184 captured titles. Atkinson defended his title while Murphy improved on his third-place finish of a year ago.
