Kurt Klimek (kluh-MEHK) stepped into the big void left by All-American heavyweight Wade Sauer's career-ending injury in the final regular season meet of 2007-08... he went 16-12 overall (10-7 in duals, 6-2 in Pac-10 duals) in 2008-09 and gained bonus points 7 times.. in 2009-10 he was 26-11 overall (8-4 in duals, 3-4 in Pac-10 duals) and placed fourth at the Pac-10 Championships to earn an NCAA Tournament berth, where he went 1-2... he also had a strong 2007-08 season in his own right, compiling a 13-6 record including 1-0 in dual meets... recorded 3 pins... Kurt saw brief action wrestling unattached in 2006-07, going 2-2 with a pin... in April of 2008 in Akron, Ohio, he placed seventh in the Greco division of the University games... he has an impressive high school resume... compiled a 116-28 in three years on varsity for Coach Mark Nelson at Carlsbad High... CIF Div.
